- MORNING YOGA
A gift for your body.
Sacred Journey Retreats are run by the resident WildQuest crew. Kind, knowledgeable, full of heart and very friendly. The team is expert in taking care of your every need, on the boat and on land. More like friends in a ‘human pod’, the crew, have been working together for many years, with one goal: to create a Sacred Journey into the dolphins’ world, for you to meet the majesty of the ocean and most importantly, the sacred within you.
Yoga and Meditation are a main part of each Sacred Journey week, (but optional if you’d rather do your own thing). Designed to relax you ready to meet the dolphins from a rested, stilled space. The easier you breathe on land and in the water, the easier it is to connect with the dolphins. Yoga is also a great way to stretch, open up, tone and strengthen the body. Your body, your beautiful vehicle on this planet, will appreciate it.
Every week we see transformation happen. These holidays can be powerful, expansive and heartfelt. A vacation from your usual self. There’ll be much laughter, maybe tears, great new friendships and moments you’ll never forget. Check out below what a typical day at WildQuest might look like. Come and learn something new and let go of the old.
Our program is a group retreat/wilderness experience, designed to re-connect us with ourselves, each other and the dolphins, in a loving supportive environment!
Meeting the dolphins is magical. They’re just being what they really are. All you need to do, to be the same, is relax. That’s how our holidays are designed. For letting go and blissing out. They help us plug back into our hearts. Meeting, being to being. No personalities, no boundaries, pure presence. Connection. A resonance of oneness many seek through spiritual practice.
What a delightful combination. Nurturing exercise, mindfulness, wholesome healthy food, lazy days cruising out into open, warm, aquamarine seas to find the dolphins, chilling out on a boat-full of like-minded people, with loving support from all crew.
Retreats at WildQuest leave you rejuvenated. Full again, with the joys of life and a renewed sense of connection.
A Typical Sacred Journey Day
WE LOVE KIDS
Dolphins remind us how to play, as kids do. As we humans get older, we tend to take ourselves very seriously and forget how healthy it is to play. How to be in the moment. Innocent.
‘Children’ up to 90 years old (and older) come visit us in Bimini, becoming part of our beautiful WildQuest ‘human pod’! Connection has no age limits.
Children two years and older are welcome on any of our WildQuest Sacred Journey retreat programs, June through September – school holiday time in the US and Europe.
Teens twelve years and older are welcome on most of our retreat programs during the season, April to November.
If you’d like to bring a child under two, please contact the reservations office.
2-11 years > $400 discount
12-17 years > $200 discount.
Bimini means Mother of Many Waters, (in ‘Taino’, the native American Indian language spoken here in years gone past). Deserted white sand beaches, shimmering crystal clear warm waters, welcoming islanders, funky colourful architecture, reggae and restaurants. Hello relaxation!
Bimini is made up of three islands, North, South & East Bimini, which together form its characteristic horseshoe shape, with a lagoon in the middle. Because it’s the closest island to Florida (50 miles / 80 km), many boaters make the trip in a couple of hours and dock in the marinas for short stays, or use the islands as a base for deep water fishing trips.
Surrounded by shallow reefs (20-30 ft) near shore, sea depth increases to 80 to 100 ft off the West coast, before dropping into the profound depths, over 6000 ft, of the Gulf Stream between Bimini and Miami. The Andros Barrier Reef (southeast of Bimini) represents the second largest reef complex in the western North Atlantic.
Some say Bimini is home to the ancient ‘lost City of Atlantis’; more recently the island was infamous as a favourite location for rum-runners during Prohibition. Today this gem of a playground has become known as the deep-sea fishing-capital of the world and the very best place, anywhere, to swim with wild dolphins.
The horseshoe-shaped island is very narrow, so the Retreat Centre is seconds away from stunning beaches, often deserted, where you can swim, sunbathe and take moonlight strolls. On the Retreat Centre’s doorstep, nature treats us to a splendid sunrise every morning overlooking the bay, where our catamaran, DolphinQuest, is moored.
Sparkling turquoise by day, golden orange by night, the waters in Bimini soak up your cares, leaving you purified and new.
