An authentic Mayan Fire Ceremony with Lena Sofie, an initiated Fire and Water Priestess of the Mayan tradition. Lena Sofie will be coming all the way from Europe to offer this event at Lotus Bend Sanctuary. In addition to being a Mayan fire and water priestess and Mayan astrologer, Lena Sofie is also a somatic psychotherapist, somatic experiencing practitioner, yoga teache and therapist. She helps people heal and transform their lives through her personal sessions, ceremonies and workshops. 

A Mayan fire ceremony is the creation of a sacred space held by the Mayan spirits (Nawales), the guardians of the four directions and the Mother Earth and the Father Sky. Within the center of this sacred space is an alchemical fire, that is collectively built by all participating in the ceremony using herbs, incense, chocolate and candles. The fire becomes the portal and the focus of the ceremony into which the 20 Mayan spirits are called forth to assist ones prayers and intentions into manifestation. During the ceremony Lena Sofie calls forth the 260 days of the Mayan ceremonial calendar, giving participants direct access in influencing the “thread of time”, past and future transformed through the portal of the present moment. The power of this ceremony can profoundly shift circumstances in the life of those who participate. This ancient tradition is a beautiful heart opening experience that is healing, cleansing and truly unforgettable.

This event spans over the course of two evening and two whole day workshops where Lena Sofie will teach you about the Mayans, their ceremonial calendar and the meaning and science behind the fire ceremony. In addition to this, she will also teach the essence of each of the 20 Mayan spirits otherwise known as Nawales and you will also learn about your personal Mayan guardian spirit. After learning about the Nawales intellectually, Lena Sofie will guide the group in several shamanic drum journeys in order to energetically meet the Nawales and to begin your own personal relationship to them. All of this careful preparation will give you a profoundly personal and solid foundation in order to fully participate in last day of the workshop, where a Mayan Fire Ceremony will be held on the beautiful grounds of Lotus Bend Sanctuary.

About Lena Sofie

Lena Sofie has a masters degree in counseling psychology and is a somatic experiencing practitioner (trauma healer), certified yoga teacher, yoga therapist, hypnotherapist, mindfulness and meditation instructor, as well as an initiated Mayan astrologer and fire and water priestess. With over 22 years of experience she elegantly weaves together indigenous wisdom teachings, shamanism, psychology, yoga, and mindfulness in her therapy, classes and workshops. Lena Sofie had a spiritual awakening at the age of 16 which led her to seek spiritual wisdom and indigenous knowledge. She was eventually led to the Native American “red road” where she has had several vision quest ceremonies, became an Aztec dancer and a Native American sun dancer. She has a passion for indigenous cultures and traditions of healing and has studied with healers in Peru, Guatemala and Mexico. In 1999 she studied with an ayahuascero in Peru, Don Jorge Gonzalez Ramirez. There she was traditionally initiated through a process of isolation, eating a special diet and ingesting healing plants of the Amazon that prepared her body to hold “body lightening”, the healing energy of a shaman. In 2010 she was initiated as a Mayan fire and water priestess in the highlands of Guatemala and now carries a traditional Mayan altar passed down in the lineage of Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj, a grand elder of the Continental Council of Elders and Spiritual Guides of the Americas. The healing wisdom she attained on the Mayan path entitles her to offer Mayan fire and water ceremonies for personal healing, prayer and transformation, as well to keep count of the Mayan calendar and offer personal Mayan astrology sessions. Through her private practice, Star Seed: Mayan Astrology and Ceremony, based in Ibiza and Copenhagen, she has helped many heal and transform themselves.
